Fetival Didáctico International Cortinas welcomes all music lovers to attend and participate in its thirtieth Festival from 27 of August through 5 of September 2016 in Villingen, Germany.
The Festival, open to music lovers at all levels, was founded by María Teresa Cortinas, Elisabeth Schärli de Cortinas and Pedro Cortinas at the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas, Mexico, with aim at drawing students closer to teachers and professional performers in an informal and casual atmosphere.
Since its inception in 1986, the Festival has continued to honor this commitment in Mexico, Switzerland and Germany, thus underscoring its international character. Offered are individual piano lessons based on the German principles of piano playing, violin, viola and cello in conformance with the principals of the Juilliard School in New York, and orchestral conducting.
This year, in conjunction with our established conducting class, Prof. Daniel Schweizer, ex-student of Maestro Sergui Celibidache, will hold a seminar on the practical aspects of conducting. Other didactic activities include chamber music study and orchestra practicum. The Festival concludes with two chamber music and solo presentations, and a final gala concert with symphony orchestra. All these with student participation and open to the public. Throughout the Festival there will be concerts and recitals by guest artists and members of the teaching staff.
